14/05/2015 07:22:15 | I read the book half moon investigations by Eoin Colfer this was about a child detective with uncanny instinct and amazing detective skills who is thrown in jail, hit in the head with a hurling bat (ask Lorcan) and who solved the greatest mystery in their county. I liked that it showed that kids can be awesome detectives but most importantly that we can be smart. In my opinion the book is an amazing novel that has many twists and turns along the way for example when he is about to solve his first case when he is knocked unconscious by a hurling bat. but in the end it all turns out alright. I was impressed how Eoin Colfer weaves his story of fiction mixed in with factual information for example when Eoin started off with telling us about where the county Lock is. I really admire his storytelling and style and how he incorporates those two abilities to make an amazing story. This book is very fast-paced and you can't just skip the first half. But if you like surprises, criminal families and a smart-talking detective then you have come to the right place. I would recommend it to boys/girls over 10. Because it has some very complex words that the younger generation might not be able to comprehend. |
