North of nowhere
Kessler, Liz
Notes
Mia's Granddad has disappeared which means she has to spend a week with her mum comforting her Gran. But that week is spent in Porthaven and to Mia this is one of the most boring places in the world until she takes Flake, her Gran's bouncy dog, on a walk down to the beach and finds a boat just sitting near the jetty. Flake won't get off the boat so Mia has no choice but to climb aboard and pull him off. But then she sees the most beautiful book.Just quickly, she flicks through the pages and finds they are full of diary entries from a girl who signs off as "D". And "D" sounds like the sort of person Mia would be best friends with. So, without really thinking about it, Mia writes to "D" on a new page of the diary, and soon an unexpected friendship is unraveling.
